Bonnie Diggs is a Houston-based violinist, songwriter, and the Founder and Artistic Director of Pluto Soundz, a modern string quartet exploring the space between classical music and contemporary expression.

Originally from New Orleans, Bonnie began her musical journey with piano before discovering the violin as a teenager. She earned a degree in Violin Performance from Loyola University and has built a career as a performer, songwriter, arranger, and creative collaborator in the Houston arts community.

As Artistic Director of Pluto Soundz, Bonnie leads the quartet’s artistic vision and contributes heavily to its original music and arrangements. Her instinct for melody and storytelling plays a central role in shaping Pluto’s sound, which combines modern string techniques, rhythm, popular music influences, and original composition.

Bonnie is passionate about creating music that feels personal, accessible, and connected to the people experiencing it. Through Pluto, she has developed performances that move beyond the traditional concert format, collaborating with musicians, dancers, visual artists, and other Houston creatives. Each performance pairs original music with the stories, ideas, and experiences that inspired it.

At the heart of Bonnie’s work is a desire to explore what is possible when classically trained musicians step outside familiar boundaries and create something entirely their own.
